We are really selective when it comes to fermented veggies. We're unique in our combination of produce from local farmers, chemical-free and organic ingredients, and culturally- and historically-relevant recipes. When you buy Harvest Roots ferments, nutrition and flavor are at their peak!
Sold at local retailers and markets all over the Southeast.
Old Timer Sauerkraut
Our homage to Appalachia. All local organic vegetables: Cabbage, caraway, salt.
Flavor notes: Fermented (8) weeks at 65f. Never dismiss a classic made with the highest quality ingredients that is well done. With a perfect salinity providing the crunchy texture of cabbage as well as the traditional sour notes complimented by the bready, rye flavors of caraway seed.
Our rendition of a Salvadoran recipe. We use organic, Savoy Cabbage, julienned carrot, garlic, oregano, and just enough chili flakes.
Flavor notes: The middle of the road in terms of spice, with oregano adding a pleasing citrus flavor to the crunch of Savoy cabbage and spice of chili flake.
All local, organic vegetables: Napa cabbage, Daikon radish, Ginger, Scallion, Garlic, Gochugaru.
Flavor notes: Fermented (4) days at 65f leaving behind the early funk without the flavors of a more sour kraut. We really believe in the quality of our kimchi.
